Most publications, YouTubers, and bloggers focus on cameras. But we knew early on that&#8217;s only part of photography. Lenses and the accessories around them are super important. Today, we&#8217;re happy to make a huge, special announcement. The Phoblographer is now home to the most real-world lens reviews. That means that we&#8217;ve taken over 700 lenses out and into the wild. We didn&#8217;t do lab tests. Instead, we tested them and used them according to what we see you folks doing online. Further, We did them ourselves in-house. Unlike a few other publications, we didn&#8217;t syndicate from various sources on the web. We&#8217;ve handled, abused, and shot with all of the lenses.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>You can check out our revamped <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thephoblographer.com\/indexes\/reviews-index\/\">Reviews Index<\/a> and head to the lens section. And we&#8217;re evolving to be a cultural hub for imaging.\u00a0 That&#8217;s why I use the term passionate photographers. The truth is that you can be a professional photographer who hates your job. So instead, we hope to attract both professionals and hobbyists. A big part of this is the massive undertaking of the Lens Database. Over 20 journalists have worked on it for the past 11 years. Even more brands are featured. You&#8217;ll find lots of image samples. But most importantly, these days, you&#8217;ll find transparency and honesty. <strong>Our reviews are all unpaid.<\/strong> We&#8217;re incredibly strict about following FTC laws, and we do not do paid reviews. All the reviews are objective and truly the thoughts of the writers. And all articles go through my eyes before publishing.<\/p>\n<p>In 2009, I started Phoblographer, knowing that I wanted us to be a unique and completely different publication from the rest. And we realized that goal. All of our content is completely original. Even our take on the news is totally unlike what other publications produce. You can get the news anywhere. But you can&#8217;t get truly informed opinions and thoughts everywhere. And who better to give their opinions than the folks who&#8217;ve used every camera system under the sun?<\/p>\n<p>You&#8217;re probably wondering how we do our lens tests? Well, here are a few interesting tidbits:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Every reviewer has to shoot at least three genres of photography with them. We&#8217;ve relaxed this in COVID times.<\/li>\n<li>The reviews team literally talks together to come up with parameters for testing. We avoid shooting charts and brick walls at all costs.<\/li>\n<li>We do build quality tests when manufacturers say that their products have some sort of weather sealing.<\/li>\n<li>All of our reviewers have been shooting for many, many years.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We invite you to use us as a resource for your research in the future.
