OM System has introduced some iconic cameras over the years. The company launched the OM3, OM1, and Pen F, each of which remains important even today. While OM System is expanding its lineup, there are often instances where some cameras are discontinued. This is also true in the case of a popular Four Thirds camera, which will no longer be produced. Have a look. <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

According to Asobinet,<\/a> the company has closed down the production of the OM-D E-M10 Mark IV.<\/a> The report states that Japanese retailers such as MAP Camera are now listing the product as discontinued. There is no word from OM System yet, but whenever something like this has happened, the camera’s phase out of production usually follows.<\/p>\n\n\n

The OM-D E-M10 Mark IV<\/a> was launched in 2020, making the camera almost six years old. The camera is, however, available on eBay for between $300 $700. So, what does it offer? The EM10 Mark IV comes with a 20MP Four Thirds sensor and offers some improvements over the EM10 III.<\/a> The autofocus is improved with the IV version; there is also a one-touch live comp feature and the new panoramic mode, making it an ideal choice. In fact, our review found animal and EYE AF tracking to be quite good in bright light, but they struggled a bit in low light. The latter is acceptable because this is an entry-level camera that was introduced during the pandemic. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As for the images, the EM10 Mk IV uses a sensor almost a decade old, but the results are splendid. As we said in our review, “Olympus colors are gorgeous, and the RAW files are easy to work with. The JPEGS produced are some of the best in the business, and you\u2019ll even find that the EM10 IV is decent in low-light situations.” So, while the camera is good, the technology is pretty old. Another way Olympus can address this is by updating the EP-7 series<\/a>, which shares similar features. However, since we have not tested the latter device, we can’t comment on its performance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The last camera the company launched was the OM5 II,<\/a> another 20MP MFT entry-level camera featuring multiple advanced capabilities. In fact, it is perfect if people want a budget camera that can be taken outdoors and has a nice retro look and feel. To us, it is a more ideal option than the Canon R8. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It remains to be seen what OM System introduces in 2026. However, given how they are catering to both young and professional photographers, we may receive some exciting announcements in the coming week. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
