I know that good things are worth the wait, and I can’t tell you how true this is for our little princess, Marina Violet Spears. She kept mama waiting …. and waiting … and waiting. And at almost 42 weeks pregnant, 13 days overdue, she decided it was time to meet us.
I went into labour at 5:30pm on January 20th. Contractions started at 2.5 minutes apart and 45 seconds long. Now with Hayden’s birth being only a few hours long, I knew we may have a repeat on a speedy arrival. After timing a few more contractions I texted Darren at work to let him know that she was coming! 15 minutes later the contractions were only 2 minutes apart and I told him it was time to come home. He got home at 6:20pm. I called our midwife to say we would be heading to the hospital probably within the hour. I asked Darren to make me a sandwich lol. I was hungry and was worried I would get hangry if I didn’t eat something. I took two bites and knew it was time to go. Contractions were now 1.5 minutes apart by 6:45pm. We arrived at the hospital at 7:06 pm and Miss Marina Violet was born at 7:41pm after 1 minute of pushing. I couldn’t believe it !! I feel so lucky. And she is perfect !! Happy and healthy and we couldn’t ask for anything more.
I can’t express enough gratitude for our fabulous experience with Julia and Jill at the Victoria Midwives Collective. Julia delivered Marina and she was INCREDIBLE. So calm, and so knowledgeable, and helped me have the birth experience I hoped for. Can’t say enough thanks.
Now here she is. We are so in love with our little miracle.
Thanks to Kim at Jazz Craft Boutique for the adorable crown!
