So happy to have Jenny and Josh’s beautiful wedding featured on the fabulous Canadian wedding blog Sash and Satin this week!
I am hosting a wedding shower for one of my best friends Julia on the weekend. After sipping on champagne punch and nibbling on all sorts of sandwiches and goodies, we will be enjoying tea and coffee from these beauties. Passed on to me from my mom, grandma and great grandma, these are some of my most treasured possessions. Happy Friday to you.
I am so excited to once again be featured in a new product from Design Aglow!
For those of you who haven’t heard of Design Aglow before they are an innovative company that produces an incredible downloadable magazine that is full of beautiful photography and artistic inspiration. In addition, they sell resources geared towards professional wedding and portrait photographers. Everything from Photoshop actions, templates, marketing materials, album design and seminars.
I have purchased a number of their goodies in the past and I always am excited to see what they come up with next!
Congrats to Chris and Erik who are the lucky grooms featured in this guide 🙂
1 lb 15 ounces. That is how Jackson entered this world.
So small and so fragile yet he fought day after day for his life and a year later here we are. Jackson is a beautiful, healthy and vibrant one year old toddler who keeps his mama and dada very busy!
My stomach sunk the night I got the text. You see Jackson’s mom is my best friend, Lindsay.
Going through our pregnancies together it wasn’t uncommon for us to chat about the different things our bodies were going through. But that week was different. Lindsay was starting to show the signs of early labour. And despite us trying to be positive and rationalize the symptoms away, Lindsay’s intuition knew better, and she was right. I got a text that evening saying “l think I am going to beat ya.” My stomach turned as I knew what she meant. But little did I know that I myself would go into labour just hours later.
As some of you know my labour with Hayden was extremely short … four hours start to finish. But as I was just getting going I got another text from Lindsay “beat ya.” And Jackson was here. 1 lb 15 ounces. That is how he entered this world.
Lindsay and Glen, I can’t imagine what those first hours.days.months were like. The uncertainty. The worry. The overwhelming fear and helplessness. You braved it so strongly together. And one year later you have an incredible baby boy.
Lindsay and I joke that Jackson just couldn’t wait to meet Hayden too so they could be best buds like their mommy’s. And with their birthdays just hours apart it is now such a special thing for us to share! It was an honour getting to shoot their family portraits. Something I have looked forward to since Jackson was born.
Isn’t he the cutest little man ?!!
Love you guys xoxo
Our boys having a very serious chat.
Amazing story of a strong, handsome little guy! Very cute photos of the little buds together, and with their Mama’s! Well done Kim!!
Kim, The photos are absolutely great. It feels so good to see our dear little grandson doing so well, with such wonderful parents. The two little boys look good together, and will have many happy times ahead. The comments you wrote are lovely and reminded me so much of those stressful days a year ago. Thank you for taking and sharing the photos. Heather
Kim, you are the best. Thank you so much for the beautiful write-up and of course for the amazing, keepsake photos of Jackson’s first birthday / celebration of how far he’s come. As brutal as it was in the beginning, we are so thrilled to have Hayden and Jackson share their b-days hours apart (i think back to your wedding and how i talked about how closely i our lives have parallaled throughout the years – this was such a crazy addition!)… we just know they will be best buds forever – just like us. Love you!!
Oh Kim what a beautiful session and family. An inspiring story that seems like it was meant to be in the end. I love the ones of your two little guys together – so sweet!
On Wednesday I got a good stint of time in the garden and it felt fantastic! My rhubarb is coming up like CRAZY (almost ready for our farm stand which is in progress), tulips and daffodils are everywhere and my blueberries and raspberries and garlic are already growing like weeds. I have leeks growing on my windowsill getting ready for the garden and the cutest little strawberry plant which was a gift from my lovely friend Karen.
I LOOOOOOOOVE SPRINGTIME !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Happy Friday 🙂
I absolutely will Heather !! Thanks 🙂
Please let us know when your farm stand is up – we’d love to come by and have a look!
