I was so happy to donate a portrait session for the “Spread the Love” fundraiser hosted in February by Ross Bay Preschool owner, Kim Thorsen. I was thrilled to hear that the silent auction event was a huge success and they were able to raise over $4,300 to donate to the BC Children’s Hospital !! Just amazing !!
And I was extra excited to hear that Kim was the highest bidder on my portrait session 🙂
How is it even possible? Hayden turns ONE next month! My little baby is becoming a toddler *sniffle*.
And for comparison sakes, this is one from when he was six months …
People think I am a happy baby, but really my mom is just hilarious 😉

I have recently discovered all the amazing things that coconut oil can do and there is no turning back. Just a few of the things I have been using it for. I have some in my smoothie in the morning. I use it as my lip balm. I put a drop in my bath to really soften my skin. I use it on Hayden as a moisturizer and for any skin ailments. I cook with it. I have put in in my hair as a conditioner. I use it as my under eye cream.
A quick ‘google’ of the benefits of coconut oil could supply you with reading for the week.
Anybody else out there big into coconut oil ?? What do you use it for ??
I hear its great for diaper rash and safe for cloth diapers, and alsothe best for conditioning cast iron cookware.

How on earth is it Friday already? Where did the week go? My mom was kind enough to remind me that I hadn’t posted for Favourite Things Friday, so I thought I better get on it before the day is over!
I think it is the fact that the rain seems to be back in full force. Or maybe it’s the fact that it has been 13 months since we’ve been on a vacation and that’s a long time for us. Whatever the reason I am craving travel and getting somewhere HOT.
Here are a couple snaps from when we were in Oahu for Dana and Adam’s wedding last year. Snorkelling while this pregnant and swimming with the sea turtles is still one of my most amazing memories ever.
You guys look fabulous! I remember when you went to Hawaii too – we saw you at the airport and you were so excited to be going away! I’d just love to be heading somewhere warm right now… oh well.

Melanie I make that broccoli at least 3 times a week !! It’s SO good !! And Megan, I hear ya. I’ve been drooling over that salted caramel lava cake for weeks and haven’t made it yet 😉 I make a mean lava cake, but that one looks just insane!
Have you tried that broccoli yet? I was skeptical, but it’s really good!
