Darren just popped into my office, kissed me goodbye and practically ran out the door. He is heading down to Lucky Bar to get set up for his band’s (Hastings Beauty Queen) first paying ‘gig’ tonight. He is sooooo excited…and I am sooooo excited for him. Not only excited, but I am proud. My husband has not only so many amazing traits and characteristics, but he is so freaking talented too. He is their drummer. The hottest one out there 😉 Ok, I may bug him that it is close between him and Taylor Hawkins of the Foo Fighters … but I kid, I kid !!
So if you are sitting at home reading this right now and you live in Victoria and it is before 11pm on the 24th, you should head on down and check them out !! I will be making my way down there shortly to cheer and smile and wave at him like the biggest groupie out there.
Now that I have shamelessly plugged his band (I can do that, it’s my blog!) I would like to change gears a little bit and talk about photography and a fantastic wedding I shot back in October. Weird hey ?!
You may recognize this adorable couple from a quick teaser I posted last month, but as I was browsing through their images I really wanted to post a few more. Sarah and Stephen held their wedding ceremony at the beautiful St. Anne’s Academy. This is such a gorgeous chapel. On a sunny day the golden light filters through the stunning stained glass windows and casts this incredible glow in the room. I just love it. It really suited the wedding so well. Sarah looked just radiant as she walked down the aisle. Just moments before she was lounging pretty comfortably in one of their side rooms, with such an incredible calmness about her…she was such a relaxed bride! And I love that 🙂
As the weather was cooperating with us that day we moved to the back garden after the ceremony where we shot some family and not-so-formal portraits. Here are a few more of the photos we created at that time. I hope you enjoy.
This one below was actually shot at the Uvic Finnerty Gardens, but I love it and wanted to include it too!
