Jess, I had to post this one more because I am in love with it. Talk about made for canvas 😉
This past week I had a special maternity session with a lovely friend of mine, Jess. I have known Jess for years and in fact she is one of the main people who inspired me to pursue photography, as she herself is a fantastic photographer. Check out her site here!
When I first decided to seriously pursue photography as a career, Jess and I started a business called La Vita Bella Photography. We had so much fun shooting weddings together and I truly learned so much from her. I am so excited for her and Brandon who should be welcoming to the world their beautiful daughter Everly in just a matter of weeks. Everly’s anticipated date of arrival is on my birthday and would be the best present ever! I have to admit that I am obsessed with the name Everly, since I heard it from Jess. I think it is the most beautiful name and I know it will suit her perfectly already. Love love love it.
Jess has such a perfect baby belly and there wasn’t even one stretch mark in sight ! We took our time and just enjoyed the sunshine. Even though it was sunny it wasn’t that warm out. I am not going to lie to ya, I did photoshop some goose bumps out 😉 Jess was a trooper, barefeet and all. She even brought the coolest prop, the book, Where the Wild Things Are. I freaking LOVED that book as a kid. I thought it was just an adorable idea. We played with a parasol of mine and I think we came up with some really beautiful, feminine and vintage feeling shots.
Jess you are such a beautiful pregnant mama and I know you will be a fantastic mother to Everly. Thank you so much for letting me capture these special shots for you. I hope you love them.

Kim these made my day! If these are the teasers I can’t wait for the full monty, lol 🙂
Charlie was only a week and a half old for his first formal photo session. I had captured his big sister Hailee on film for her birthday last year and I feel so fortunate that Shauna and Doug keep letting me photograph their beautiful family. One of my favourite parts of being a photographer is seeing families like theirs grow and I can’t believe the changes from year to year. Time definitely flies!
Charlie wasn’t so keen on having his photo taken at first, but he finally got a little sleepy and then he was all mine 😉 He was out like a light and we could move him this way and that way without him even opening an eye. I would pay some seriously good coin to be able to sleep like that !
Hailee was hilarious and kept running in and out of the photos, and she thought this game was the coolest thing.
These little ones were just adorable and Charlie could not have been any cuter for his first photographs. Shauna and Doug thank you again for choosing me to photograph this important stage of life for you and your family. Looking forward to our next session already 😉

I love the newborn skin of number 2! Those wrinkles that tell of the chubbers to come, he is too cute!
The AMAZING Richard and Amy of Red Leaf Studios have created some fabulous storyboard templates, that I am proud to now offer my clients. Storyboards are a fantastic way of really conveying the emotion of your images and expanding the experience by painting a bigger picture. As one picture may capture a moment, the storyboard series tells the whole story.
These storyboards will be 10×20 in size. I think they will look incredible on canvas !!
For photographers out there who have yet to discover the brilliant work of Canadian photographers, Richard and Amy, you should definitely check out their boutique where they sell a ton of incredible actions, textures, and of course these fabulous storyboards. I have almost purchased them all and they have really helped to define my photographic style.
I am attending their workshop this summer and I can’t wait !

Hi Kim,
I just started a photography website and am just getting going… I googled Victoria photographers and found your site, so happy I did! Your photos are AMAZING.
Sasha and Kyle’s wedding on Sunday was perfect. I am not even exaggerating. Everything went off without a hitch. The weather even more than co-operated, which is more than I could have hoped for !
You might recognize these two lovelies from their engagement session awhile back at Fort Rd Hill. I can’t even begin to explain how relaxed this wedding was. Sasha is the calmest bride I have seen to date! She spent the majority of her ‘getting ready’ time in the morning helping with the hair and make up for her gorgeous bridesmaids. This was one good looking group! Sasha was cool as a cucumber. Both her and Kyle had ensured there was a lot of time for the photographs, so we did not have to rush at any point of their day and it really just contributed to the mellow vibe of the whole day.
This is just a quick post and a few teaser photos from their day with more to come.
Sasha and Kyle it was my pleasure to work with you two again. You are truly two very caring, considerate and thoughtful people and I wish you love and happiness for years and years and years to come.
