CANS FOR COMMENTS !!!

In the spirit of the season, where giving is truly more meaningful than receiving, I would like to jump on the “Cans for Comments” bandwagon. This little ‘movement’ was started by the oh so talented photographers Chris & Lynn, from Vancouver.

The concept behind “Cans for Comments” is just that simple….for every comment left on my blog in the next 7 days, I will donate a can or food item to my local food bank. This is such a great cause, so please leave me a comment, or two or three and please encourage your friends and family to visit my blog and do the same!

I appreciate your support ๐Ÿ™‚

All the best to you and your family over the holiday season!

Woo-hoo! Thanks for joining in & sharing the luv! Super-adorable images of Emma&Tyler, btw – too cute!

Choo Choo !!

I had another awesome photo session at the railyard yesterday. Kelsea and Dylan had their adorable TWIN boys dressed in perfect railyard attire – blue overalls and red long sleeved shirts. Too cute !! I can’t tell you how long I have wanted to photograph twins, A REALLY LONG TIME !!

The boys were sooo excited to find a mud puddle and in no time flat, in true boy fashion, they were filthy. I am talking mud all over their faces and hair, both of them sat in the puddle, putting rocks in their mouthes, MUDDY ! It was priceless though and I think we got some great shots from that little adventure. Trying to get Kayden and Jacob away from the puddle was another story… it wasn’t happening ๐Ÿ™‚ Kelsea and Dylan were fantastically easy going and just let Kayden and Jacob have a blast in the dirt. I love it when parents just completely allow their kids to be kids and let me spontaneously capture the fun. It always seems to yeild the best pics…ones where the personalities just shine.

Kelsea and Dylan thanks for being such great sports ! You have a beautiful family and I hope that I can help capture in photographs your handsome little men for years to come !

T'is the Season

As I sit here sipping hot tea listening to my Christmas playlist I have realized the the Christmas season is upon us in full force. It kinda came out of nowhere, but is definitely beating down the door letting us know that it is here now. Here are some of the tell tale signs that the holiday season has arrived: neighbours are hanging their Christmas lights and decorations, food hamper / clothing donation bins are appearing, stores are advertising their Christmas sales and playing seasonal music in their stores, Starbucks is offering their festive drink menu complete with eggnog and gingerbread flavoured lattes (haven’t tried either, but they are on my ‘to do’ list), santa and his elves are set up in the mall, and I have the sudden urge to take up baking and consume glutenous amounts of shortbread.

This is a perfect time of year to reflect on everything we are grateful for and to share with those less fortunate. I am blessed in so many ways, and humbled by it.

I would like to take this time to express my deep gratitude to my clients. Without you my business would not exist, this blog would not exist, my passion and determination to take my photography to the ‘next level’ would not be fostered by your enthusiasm and ideas, I would not be encouraged by your kind comments and referrals….for all that you have done for me and my business this year I am truly grateful. I have amazing clients and I am so so so so lucky. You enable me to do what I love for a living, and that is valuable beyond words.

I wish you good health, happiness, success and love.

{Kim}

PS – here are a couple pics Darren and I took last night with the automatic timer of our point and shoot camera to prove that I was successful in getting him into the Christmas spirit ๐Ÿ™‚

Kim these pictures of you and Darren are beautiful!!

Emma & Tyler

These 2 siblings ROCKED their photo session. Emma had a sweet diva flair and was more than happy to strike a fabulous pose !! Tyler was a bundle of energy with striking blue eyes. His lovely mom Nicole isn’t lying when she commented on one of his pics saying he is going to break some hearts ๐Ÿ™‚

I had so much fun with these 2 and their parents, Kevin an Nicole, in Beacon Hill Park. We wandered around the park, stopping here and there to snap some fun shots.

Dana had referred Nicole to me (you can see shots from her Fall family session on here as well) and Nicole was even able to borrow the same great wagon we used in Dana’s session. Dana I might have to steal that off you! Thanks to Nicole and Kevin for choosing me to capture their beautiful kiddies !!

There's the wagon !

First Family Photos

I had the pleasure of working with Amanda, Craig and their BEAUTIFUL and oh so sweet and infectiously happy baby girl, Mila. This was my 1st of 3 photo sessions in Beacon Hill Park this week and the weather was PERFECT. Beacon Hill is such a fabulous location for fall photos with the leaves, trees, ponds and endless open greenspace that all provide an amazing seasonal backdrop.

Craig was able to sneak away from work for an hour to join us for a casual stroll and candid photo session in the park. Mila was nothing but smiles and giggles and the urge to steal her was right up there, let me tell you ! It was such a delight to see Amanda again, as her and I used to work together. I was honoured to be able to capture their family’s first family photos. Here’s a sneak peek ๐Ÿ™‚

Seriously, could she get any cuter ?!
